Making waves at Devcon 7:
Superfluid side event

When Superfluid approached SODA in September 2024, they had a bold plan: a Devcon 7 side event that would go beyond the usual networking mixer.

They envisioned an experience that combined branding, engagement, and Web3 activations, something that would make a lasting impact.

Setting the stage

Setting the stage

Superfluid had an incredible venue in mind: Flowhouse, a surfing-themed location. That’s where SODA stepped in. With on-the-ground support, negotiations, visits, and contractors sourcing and coordination, SODA ensured that everything was locked in. They managed contracts, staffing, and event supervision, making sure every detail was covered.

Since many guests would arrive straight from Devcon, SODA proposed event-specific merchandise that doubled as essentials for the activities.

Produced for the event:

  • 150 Superfluid-branded swim shorts

  • 50 Superfluid-branded bikinis

  • 150 branded towels

  • 900 stickers, 50 posters, and 12 partner banners

  • 30 CTA info sheets to streamline onboarding

Additionally, SODA handled all the logistics for activations, producing and organizing wristbands, lockers, guides, and accessories that ensured a smooth experience.

Bringing the vision to life

Bringing the vision to life

Executing an event of this scale in record time was no small feat. SODA ensured everything was in place, while Superfluid’s marketing team led the event design and activations. The result was a perfectly coordinated experience that balanced fun and engagement.

Atmosphere and entertainment

  • A fully branded venue with custom decor and a giant backdrop

  • A DJ set with sound and laser shows

  • Professional videographers and photographers documented every moment, offering on-the-spot souvenir photo printing and a seamless process for sharing captured moments directly to relevant social media accounts.

  • A VIP lounge and a secondary venue for the after-party, called The Resignation of Gary Gensler.

Food and drinks

  • 2,000 drinks and cocktails served

  • 300 skewers

  • 160 pizza slices

Interactive engagement
The highlight of Flowhouse was the artificial surfing wave, where attendees, including some of Web3’s most recognizable founders took turns riding the waves. This led to massive social media engagement as crypto personalities posted about their experience.

Meanwhile, Superfluid’s activations were seamlessly integrated, with NFT minting sessions and dApp interactions turning the surfing experience into an interactive Web3 onboarding journey.

Global reach
For those who couldn’t attend in person, the event was live-streamed for 12 hours, amassing 10,000 views and over 1,000 new followers within the first day, with engagement continuing in the days that followed.

The impact

  • 300 attendees, including top crypto founders and builders

  • 150 people surfed the artificial wave while engaging with Superfluid’s activations

  • Unanimous praise, with many calling it the best side event of Devcon 7

More than just a party, this event solidified Superfluid’s brand presence and reinforced SODA’s expertise in delivering high-impact, well-executed brand experiences.

SODA isn’t just about merchandise, it brings ideas to life.
